    Sr. Genevieve Regina, entered into eternal peace with the Lord, Monday, Aug. 21, 2023. She was born Patricia Rose Nugent in Baltimore, MD and was a member of Saints Philip and James Parish. Sr. Genevieve entered the Little Sisters of the Poor and made Profession on April 18, 1967. She generously shared her God-given gifts in loving service with all those with whom she collaborated in the care of the elderly poor. For many years she served in leadership as Mother Superior and as Provincial in the Brooklyn Province. She had the quality to discern the needs of others and to meet them where they were, with wisdom, goodness and a sense of humor.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, William Nugent and Eleanor Rose Croy Houlihan as well as her sister, Kathleen and her brother, Billy. Sr. Genevieve is survived by her sister-in-law, Sue Nugent, her nieces Meredith (Stephen) Duley, Megan Smith, Heather Nugent and her nephew, Patrick Nugent (Katherine), along with several great nieces and nephews.

    Calling Hours will be held from 3 - 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2023 at St. Joseph's Residence, 1365 Enfield St., Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Bishop Dennis Sullivan at St. Joseph's Residence Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023. Committal will follow at St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery.
