    Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Lorraine Savoy Cormier, 91, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 2, 2023, at St. Joseph Carpenter House.

    A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Thursday from 7:00 AM until 11:30 AM.

    A rosary will be prayed by the Catholic Daughters at 7:00 PM on Wednesday.

    Rev. Garrett McIntyre and Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Sandra Stelly and Jeanette Hubert. Gift bearers will be Ashley Guillot and Kayla Romero.

    Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 1.

    Lorraine Savoy Cormier, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born on May 27, 1932, in Loreauville, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Vincent Savoy, II and Marie Barras Savoy.

    Lorraine dedicated her life to her family, finding fulfillment as a homemaker and creating an environment of love and warmth within her own home. She had an unwavering devotion to her dear husband of 71 years, Simon Cormier, with whom she shared countless precious memories throughout their married life.

    In addition to her dedication to her family, Lorraine was actively involved in various community groups and organizations. She was devout Catholic and served the Lord. She was an esteemed member of the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, Come Lord Jesus, Grief Support Ministry, and Perpetual Adoration. Lorraine brought her passion for music to St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she lent her beautiful voice to the church choir. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound and nursing homes, spreading love and comfort to those in need.

    Outside of her community involvements, Lorraine found joy in her hobbies. She had a green thumb and cherished spending time in her garden, tending to her beloved flowers. She was talented with quilting and sewing, creating beautiful keepsakes for her family to cherish, along with cooking and baking. She is survived by her sons, Dennis M. Cormier (Eirinn) and Kenneth C. Cormier (Sharon); daughter, Sandra C. Stelly (Tony); daughter-in-law, Earney Cormier; grandchildren, Rolland Guillot (Ashley), Jordan Guillot (Kayla), Ryan Cormier, Cody Cormier (Lindsey), Amanda Thomley (Michael), Justin Cormier (Amber) and Emelyn Cormier; great-grandchildren, Lexi Guillot, Landon Guillot, Payton Cormier, Clara Cormier, Simon Thomley, and Camille Thomley; and her sisters-in-law, Stella, Sandra and Betty Savoy.

    She is preceded in death by her husband, Simon Cormier; parents, Vincent Savoy, II and Marie Barras Savoy; sons, Keith Cormier and Terry Cormier; sister, Margaret S. Broussard (Ralph); and her brothers, Lewis Savoy and Vincent "Sonny Boy" Savoy (Anita).

    Pallbearers will be Rolland Guillot, Jordan Guillot, Ryan Cormier, Cody Cormier, Justin Cormier, and Tony Stelly.

    Honorary pallbearers will be Amanda Thomley and Emelyn Cormier.

    The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House and her caregivers Jeanne and Gertie for the exceptional care given to Lorraine.

    In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Hospice.
