Frances (Gates) Rowan, age 88, of Springlake, Texas, died Saturday, September 16, 2023 in Lubbock. She was born October 12, 1934 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Thomas Leo "Tom" and Jane (Summerlin) Gates. She married Bob Lee Rowan in Dallas, Texas on December 28, 1967.

Bob and Frances decided to call Springlake home in 1979. From there, she built a life centered around her family and animals she adored. She spent her time doing things she loved most, cooking and playing board games.

Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; three brothers, Buck Gates, Pete Gates and Bill Gates; one sister, Tommie Lee Gates; and grandson, Kevin James.

Frances is survived by two sons, Rip Rowan and his wife, Rhonda of Leander, Texas and Ted Rowan of Springlake, Texas; two daughters, Cindy Bone of Lewisville, Texas and Robin Burch and her husband, Mike of Dallas, Texas; ten grandchildren, Robert Bone, Lori Thurston and her husband, Derek, Rylan Rowan, Coleton Burch and his wife, Cassie, Bradley Burch and his wife, Madison, Rhett Rowan, Rowan Burch and his wife, Teresa, Ashlee Jackson and Alex Merrill, Zach Rowan and Maddie Meyer, and Matt Waskow and his wife, Miranda; and eleven great-grandchildren.
