    Jose De Leon, son, brother, fiancé, and friend, passed away on October 1, 2023, in his hometown of Lubbock, Texas. He was born on March 1, 2002. Jose was a remarkable person who will forever be remembered for his passion for his cooking, his smile, his ability to bring laughter to any room, and his curly hair.

    Although Jose's life ended too soon, he leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his father, Lino De Leon; brother, Luis De Leon; his beloved fiancé, Nicole Fonseca; grandfather, Ben Salinas; grandmother, Emilia De Leon, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

    Jose is preceded in death by his mother, Olga Salinas De Leon; grandmother, Lela Salinas; and grandfather, Luis De Leon Jr.

    To honor Jose's life and mourn his passing, a Holy Rosary will be held at The Venue on Broadway in Lubbock on October 9, 2023. The Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM and conclude at 8:00 PM. The address of The Venue on Broadway is 2202 Broadway St, Lubbock, TX, 79401.

    A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lubbock on October 12, 2023. The mass will begin at 6:00PM. The address of Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church is 1120 52nd St, Lubbock, TX 79412.

    In this time of grievous loss, let us remember Jose De Leon not only for his love to cook and infectious laughter but also for his kind heart and genuine love for those around him. May his spirit live on in all the lives he touched, and may we find solace in the cherished memories we shared with him. Rest easy, Mijo.
