Kimberly Ann ‘Kim’ Motley, aged 67, of Ellsworth, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2023, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 5, 1956, in Racine, Wisconsin, Kim was the daughter of James and Angeline (Fazzari) Burdick. She spent her early years in Racine, attending elementary school before graduating from Walden High School in the class of 1974. On April 1, 1978, in no jest, Kimberly proudly said, “I do” to Patrick Motley in Racine. This union blessed them with two children, Amy and Patrick IV.

Patrick and Kim dedicated decades of their lives to General Motors, both taking pride in their roles as dedicated employees. Kim, a manufacturer assembler, contributed 30 years to the company before her well-deserved retirement. Retirement did not mark the end of her active life; she found joy working at the Maiden Rock Winery, where serving wines and participating in events brought her immense fulfillment.

Kim was not only a diligent worker but also an artist at heart. Gifted with a sense of style and color, she was an accomplished painter, with some of her works proudly displayed at the winery. In addition to painting, she excelled in creating stained glass art. A talented singer and ukulele player, she and Pat spent winters in Zephyrhills, Florida, where she delighted in singing and playing Country Road by John Denver with friends. Kim passed on her love of music to her daughter Amy, taking great pride in showcasing Amy’s singing talent to friends and family.

Her Italian heritage and love for cooking led to her assisting in rebuilding Bocci ball courts where she lived in Florida. Kim’s creativity extended to her home, where she cultivated beautiful flowerbeds with vibrant blooms that complemented the decor. Undoubtedly, her true passion lay in being surrounded by her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, of whom she was incredibly proud. Wherever Kim went, she left behind wonderful friends and memories.

Kim is remembered as a devoted wife of 45 years to Pat, a loving and supportive mother to Amy and Patrick, and a cherished grandmother to Xavier, Alex, Alyssa, Patrick, Taylor, and Jace. Her parents precede her in death, but her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 14th with a memorial service at 1pm followed by fellowship and refreshments at the Roma Lodge, 7130 Spring Street in Racine, WI 53406. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Interment will be private and at a later date. Cremation and memorial services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Ellsworth.
