Betty Lou Weston, 86, of Shields, our loving and passionate mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on September 21, 2023, at HealthSource Saginaw with her family by her side.

Betty was born on December 12, 1936 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Charles and Olive (Thompson) Robar. She attended Saginaw High School. While at a wedding with friends, she captured the eye of a handsome man by the name of Wilford Weston; they danced, fell in love, and were united in marriage on May 5, 1956. From the time they met, and over the years, they enjoyed dancing so much that they became affectionately known by their friends as Fred and Ginger. Sadly, Wilford passed away on May 12, 2003.

Betty’s life was defined by her unwavering dedication to her family and her role as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found joy in creating a warm and nurturing home. She enjoyed watching Christian ministry talk shows and Shark Tank every day. Betty’s love and passions reverberated throughout her household, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those she held dear.

Betty treasured the simple pleasures in life and found solace in gathering with friends and engaging in her green thumb in her bountiful vegetable garden. Betty’s nimble fingers were always busy; over the years she crocheted 147 blankets for those she loved. Never one to sit still for very long, she was active in her bowling league for over 30 years and was a feisty member of her card club for over 60 years. Betty enjoyed playing video games and was relentless in her pursuit to beat the game itself. On occasion, she could be found trying her luck at the casino.

Betty’s warm heart, contagious laughter, and compassionate spirit will forever be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Betty leaves to carry on her legacy to her children, Cyndi (Bob) Bright, Sheree (Tim) Blazejewski, and William (Stacey) Weston; grandchildren, Brandi (Mark), Anthony (Andria), Michael (Jessica), Kyler (Dana), Noah, and Delaney; step-grandchildren, Lauren (Alex), Justin (Lauren), Jessica, Michael, Amanda, and Shane; great-grandchildren, Kassidy (Billy), Logan, Lance, Cecelia, Viviana, and Jade; a great-great-granddaughter, Oakleigh; several step great-grandchildren she called her own; in-laws, Nancy and Frances Robar, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and card club friends. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her 10 siblings; daughter, Janice Weston, and grandson, Jordan Dodak.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremations Services, 1550 Midland Rd., Saginaw. Friends and family are invited to attend a gathering to celebrate Betty’s life on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Harvey Randall Wickes Park – West, 7431 McCarty Rd., Pavilion #1, from 2:00 PM until a lighted balloon release at dusk. During this time there will be a cookout, card games, and several other activities where family and friends will honor and reminisce on the impact Betty had on our lives in a reunion-like setting.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff at HealthSource – Wheels Unit for the exceptional care and compassion they gave Betty.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research or the Ovarian Cancer Coalition. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
