    David M. Cardaropoli, 61, of Enfield, beloved husband of Penny (Booras) Cardaropoli, passed away at home, Sunday Oct. 1, 2023 surrounded by his family. Born in Springfield, MA, David was the son of the late Salvatore and Carolyn (Lennox) Cardaropoli. He was raised in Enfield and was a lifetime resident of the community, graduating from Fermi High School in 1979.

    He co-owned and operated Enfield Auto Supply in Enfield with his father for 25 years. He later opened Dave’s Auto Machine in 2001. His career in automotive repair finally brought him to Fermi High School in 2006 where he taught Auto Shop, and was recently teaching at Enfield High School. He was a teacher who often went the extra mile for his students as he cared greatly for their future successes.

    He was past president of the Enfield Hockey Association, a past coach for Fermi Softball, as well as a past coach for Fermi Swimming. He was an avid sports fan, especially any team related to Boston. David was a diehard New England Patriots fan and was a longtime season ticket holder. In his free time, he also enjoyed bowling and golfing. David was also a proud member of the 44 racing family for 10 years.

    In addition to his wife, Penny, He survived by two children, Carolyn Murphy and her husband Kevin of Grafton, MA, and David, M. Cardaropoli Jr. and his wife Tia of Enfield, two stepsons, Frederick Dyer and his wife Niki of Palmer, MA, and Kyle Dyer and his wife Liz of Watertown, New York.
    He also leaves his loving grandchildren, Elizabeth and Lily Murphy, Ivy and Benjamin Cardaropoli, Alex Dyer, Giana Grampetro, Peyton Findlay, AubriElla Findlay, and Brycelynn Dyer.

    Visitation hours will be held from 3 to 6 PM Wednesday, October 4th at Leete Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd. Enfield. A Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 5th at Leete Stevens, followed by committal at St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery in Enfield. Donations in David’s memory may be made to Enfield High School, Attn: EHS Guidance Dept. (write in Check Memo: David Cardaropoli Scholarship), 1264 Enfield St., Enfield, CT 06082.
