Polly Downs Johnson passed away on Friday, October 6th, 2023.

Polly was preceded in death by her parents, James Edgar Downs and Beulah Montgomery Downs; brothers, J.E. (Sue) Downs, Wesley Downs, Charles Downs, and sister, Linda (Johnny) Thompson.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Donald Ray Johnson; a son, Lloyd Alton (Debbie) Johnson; two daughters, Beverly (Jeff) Carroll, and Daphne Smith; one brother, John Edward Downs; three sisters, Sue Varner, Martha Shiver, and Madgelene Manning, and sisters-in-law Emma Jean Thrower, and Cindy Downs; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was very involved with her church and with her community and devoted to her family.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 10-11a.m. with the funeral service at Evangel Temple in Montgomery, at 11 a.m. with Minister Michael Rippy officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery (Lightwood Community, Elmore County.) with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Serving as Pall bears will be, David Godwin, John Oswald, Seth Snellgrove, David Johnson, Mike Downs, Dewayne Downs, and Parker Downs.
