    September 7, 1920- September 22, 2023

Lucille was born and raised in Belleville, New Jersey. She was the daughter of parents who migrated from Italy. Her Italian values and traditions stayed with her throughout her life.

Lucille was also known as “Aunt Lou", a loved and cherished aunt, to many nieces and nephews and close extended family members and friends. She would do anything for the ones she loved. She enjoyed life and had a smile for everyone.

She was fiercely independent and a hard worker. She retired from working at The Hall of Records in Newark, NJ when she was 81. Shortly after retiring, she moved to South Florida to reside near her sister and her sister’s family. She kept busy in Florida with the St. David's Women's Club and many new friends. She enjoyed cooking, celebrating holidays and special occasions, shopping, listening to Sinatra, watching gossip shows and keeping up with Hollywood stars. She even enjoyed flying airplanes in her younger years.

She surely was a generous and kind person. Her favorite quotes were, "I sent my blues to the laundry and I'm in the pink", and "You get more with honey than you do with vinegar." She lived her life with a “Happy-Go-Lucky” attitude.
She taught us to live in the moment and she truly personified that way of life.

Good Luck Aunt Lou on your journey to heaven where you will be reunited with your immediate family members again! You will always be loved and never forgotten. Your love made our lives better.

Lucille is predeceased by her parents, James and Eugenia DeBonis; six siblings; Albert DeBonis, Vera Shaul, Frank DeBonis, Nicholas DeBonis, Rose Iannello and James L. DeBonis, Sr.

She is survived by her nieces Jean Fanelli, Barbara Stark,
Cynthia DeBonis; and nephews James A. DeBonis, James L. DeBonis, Jr. , Thomas DeBonis along with many great-nieces and great-nephews as well as great-great nieces and great- great nephews. She was a beloved godmother to Barbara Stark, Thomas DeBonis and April Bullen.

There will be a graveside service on October 17, 2023, at 11:00am, at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or the wounded warriors. See link below obituary for donations.
