Edward J. Dippel, 85, of Wisner Twp. and Troy, our quiet, kind, giving, and hardworking father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle peacefully passed away on October 5, 2023, at his residence. Ed was born on September 14, 1938 in Detroit to the late John and Aline Dippel. Ed brought warmth and joy to the lives of all who knew him. His unwavering love for his family, as well as his passion for hunting, fishing, and vegetable gardening, will forever be etched in their hearts.

Ed graduated from Unionville-Sebawaing High School in 1956. While in school he met Ilene Winter. They became friends, dated, and were united in marriage on June 13, 1959 in Wisner. Sadly, Ilene passed away on September 30, 1997 after 38 years of marriage. Ed’s life was a testament to his dedication and hard work. He began working on the family farm and later moved downstate to work at Kelko Manufacturing. He later opened his own business, Clawson Precision Inc., from 1966 until 2021. With great expertise and skill, he cultivated bountiful gardens that not only provided nourishment for his loved ones but also served as a source of pride. His love for the great outdoors extended beyond his garden, as he would often venture into the wilderness, embracing the solitude and tranquility of his surroundings while fishing or hunting.

Despite his quiet demeanor, Ed possessed a contagious spirit of adventure. Whether he was casting his line into a serene lake or exploring the woods during hunting season, he found solace in the simplicity of nature. These moments of reflection allowed him to recenter and reconnect with the beauty that surrounded him. Ed leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, and is survived by his children, Edward C. (Janet Lanyon) Dippel, John M. Dippel, Janet (Jeff) Bigelow, and Judi Dippel; grandchildren, Jasen Dippel, Justen (Nicole) Dippel, Amanda Rossilli, and Kyle Rossilli; great-grandchildren, Alex, Liam, and James Dippel, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Ed was welcomed home to heaven by his brother, Conrad Dippel, and sister, Aline (Don) Grawburg.

Ed’s family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 9:00 AM until Ed’s 10:00 AM Funeral Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. Interment will be held privately at Wisner Twp. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
