It is with great sadness that we announce the passing at Joseph Brant Hospital on Sunday August 13, 2023 of Catherine Margaret Williams (nee Bell). Catherine accepted her end of life with characteristic grace and courage. She is predeceased by her parents, Walter and Peggy Bell (nee Tully), her uncle C.C. (Peter) Tully, her "cuz" Barbara Hennessy (nee Isbister) and her husbands, Andrew Fotheringham and Ted Williams. She is survived by her family; brother Kirk Bell, sister Martha Smith (Blair), cousins Chris Tully and David Isbister, her nieces and nephews Vanessa Bell (Justin) and Dyson Smith (Darlene) and grand nieces, Marlie and Colbie Smith. She will be particularly missed by her steadfast friend, confidant and kindred spirit, Bonnie Drummond. Jingles, her cat, is in good and compassionate hands.

Catherine was a strong and honest spirit. She spoke her mind, backed up her beliefs and did not suffer fools lightly or let them remain ignorant of their folly. But she was compassionate, gentle, warm to all, completely blind to race, creed or any other nuance of the day and was loyal to a fault. Although she never possessed a driver's license, she was a devoted fan of motor racing - from all forms of open wheel to NASCAR. She was a story teller with an appropriate tale for every occasion and an advocate for being honest and true to yourself. She believed in and practiced life-long education, continuously honing her skills as a physiotherapist. She volunteered, formally and informally, throughout her life giving freely of her time, energy and considerable expertise. She impacted many lives to their great benefit as a physiotherapist, friend and family member. Her like is seldom encountered and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

    Cremation has taken place.

A family and friends service will be held at a later date at St. Luke's Church in Burlington, Ontario at the time of internment.
