    Arturo M. Guillen, age 80, of Morton, Texas, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023 in Morton. He was born August 31, 1943 in Balmorhea, Texas to Enrique and Maria (Mendoza) Guillen. He married Elisa Alicia Gomez in Morton on May 10, 1980.

    Arturo loved to joke and play with his grandkids. He was an avid fan of westerns on tv, especially Gun Smoke, the Lone Ranger, Bonanza and anything with John Wayne. Arturo loved listening to music like Corridos (Vicente Fernandez and Antonio Aguilar). He was a very lovable person and never met a stranger. Arturo was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Morton. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Arturo Guillen Jr. and Richard Guillen; one grandson, Aureliano Lopez Jr.; and three sisters, Esperanza Guillen, Blanca Estella Guillen and Gloria Chavez.

    Arturo is survived by his wife, Elisa; a son, Roque Martinez of Durango, Mexico; eight daughters, Erma Lopez of Morton, Texas, Hilda Guillen of Bovina, Texas, Belinda Guillen and Jose Mendiola of Morton, Texas, Irma Martinez of Kansas City, Kansas, Berta Martinez of Durango, Mexico, Juanita Arambula of Kansas City, Kansas, Alma Martinez and Benjamin Trejo of Kansas City, Kansas and Veronica Flores and Jorge Barraza of Durango, Mexico; two sisters, Rosa Rios and her husband, Ramon of Eunice, New Mexico and Elida Villarreal and her husband, Richard of Bovina, Texas; two brothers, George Guillen and his wife, Deatt of Friona, Texas and Enrique Guillen Jr. and his wife, Yesenia of Eunice, New Mexico; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
